Frequently asked questions
It's natural to have questions when you're exploring support for perimenopause and menopause. At The 3 C's, we believe in open conversation and clear information. Below, you'll find answers to some of the most common queries, designed to help you feel more informed and confident about our supportive, non-clinical approach.
"Is what I’m feeling normal — or is something wrong with me?"
This is by far the most common question. Many women feel confused by changes in mood, sleep, energy, confidence, or memory and worry they’re “losing themselves”. Often, reassurance and understanding make a huge difference, and you'll find plenty of both here at The 3 C's.
"Do I have to talk in the group?"
A lot of women worry about being put on the spot. The answer is always no — you’re welcome to listen, take things in, and share only if and when you feel comfortable. Our sessions are a safe, pressure-free space designed for your comfort.
"Is this medical or therapy?"
Women often want to know what kind of space it is. The 3 C’s is a supportive, non-clinical space focused on conversation, reassurance, and shared experience — with signposting to healthcare support where appropriate. We do not provide medical diagnosis or therapy.
"How do I even start a conversation with my GP?"
Many women feel unsure how to explain what they’re experiencing or worry they won’t be taken seriously. We often talk through how to describe symptoms clearly and advocate for yourself with confidence, helping you prepare for these important discussions.
"Will this actually help me feel better?"
This usually comes from feeling worn down or unsure. I’m always honest — there are no quick fixes — but many women leave feeling lighter, calmer, and more reassured, which can be a powerful first step towards regaining your wellbeing and confidence.
"What worries or hesitations do women often have before they join a session or get in touch with you?"
Many women tell me they hesitate at first because they’re not sure what to expect. Common worries include, “Will I have to talk about personal things?” or “What if I get emotional?” There's also the fear of feeling exposed or that their symptoms aren't 'bad enough'. We want to reassure you: there’s no pressure to share, no expectations, and no judgement. You’re welcome to come, listen, and take things at your own pace.
"Are there any common myths or confusing things about menopause or women's health that you often find yourself explaining?"
A big one is that menopause is just about hot flushes or periods stopping. Many women don’t expect anxiety, low mood, poor sleep, brain fog, aches, or a dip in confidence. Another myth is that you’re either 'in menopause' or you’re not; for most, the lead-up can go on for years. I also often explain that 'normal' blood tests don’t always mean nothing’s going on. Most importantly, no one should feel they have to struggle through it quietly.
